5 main categories of Sports Wellness care:
(1) Assessment – Assessment of sport-related needs;
(2) Sport-Specific Periodization– Application of specialist strength and conditioning techniques to encourage sport-specific movements for preseason, season, and post-season training;
(3) Nutrition– Progressive management of functional nutrition that is sport specific (for example, endurance runners eat and train differently than power sports athletes);
(4) Prevention Training– Identification and addressing of movements known to directly result in, or act as precursors to injury; and
(5) Education – Sharing of specialist knowledge to individual athletes, teams, or clubs to assist in the prevention or post-management of injury.
